Getting up from a floor mattress is genuinely hard at sixty-five, so the right answer is a single or double cot at normal bed height, with a firm mattress rather than a soft one. We stock exactly that.
Visits usually last three weeks to three months, which is where monthly rates make rental obviously cheaper than buying. A cot and mattress on a monthly package costs far less than purchasing a bed you will then have to store in a two-bedroom flat for the rest of the year.
We set the room up completely: cot assembled, mattress placed, sheets and pillows made up, and any extra item you want alongside — a bedside stool, an extra chair, a small dining chair with a back for someone who cannot sit cross-legged for meals. If the visit is extended, and it often is, we extend the rental on the same items with a revised invoice. Nothing is collected and re-delivered. When your parents leave, we pick everything up free and the flat goes back to normal the same day.
